Poland is obtaining SAR satellites from ICEYE to enhance its defense capabilities.

The deal marks a significant step for Poland in enhancing its radar reconnaissance capabilities. ICEYE will also collaborate with local industry to develop a mobile Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform, which will enable near real-time satellite tasking, data download, and analysis.

ICEYE’s SAR satellites are renowned for their ability to deliver continuous monitoring of points of interest on Earth, regardless of time or weather conditions. The system also supports the potential for shared capacity and cross-tasking with other nations, enhancing collective space defence capabilities among European and allied countries.

ICEYE currently operates the world’s largest SAR satellite constellation, offering global access and the highest revisit frequency in the market. The company’s satellites, with a resolution of 25 cm, enable precise object detection and situational awareness, making them a critical asset for modern military operations.

The implementation of the agreement begins immediately, reinforcing ICEYE’s position as a leading provider of SAR satellites for both military and civilian purposes. The acquisition is expected to significantly boost Poland’s defence and reconnaissance capabilities, while also offering potential for future collaborations with European and allied nations.
